WHAT OUR CLIENT SAY

The real Africa Experience We spent 2 nights in the Lodge and we wanted a real Africa experience - and we found it! We have been the only guests and never experienced a more care taking atmosphere! The tent was brilliant and the view to the river breathtaking! Animals around-great natural sounds- we loved it! Who wants to feel the real African Spirit is here at the right place! Keep up the good work and many more guests that can enjoy this beautiful place on Earth!

Confortable and beautiful lodge near safari My sister and I booked a 4-days safari with Franklin. We spent 2 nights at the Selous Mapumziko Lodge in the end of May 2023. We had the chance to be the only visitors at this lodge for our whole stay. Our room had 3 beds (2 single, 1 double), a shower and a bathroom. You had a beautiful view on the Rufiji, with chairs and swings. We were less than 5 minutes from the boat safari, and 5 minutes from the Nyerere National Park (selous game reserve). The food was really good, with a lot of choices. The breakfast was filling, the lunchbox for the safari was perfect and the dinner ended the day on a good note. The staff was friendly and useful. We played/learned the swahili card game with our server and the cook. We were sad to leave this lodge to go to Mikumi National Park. If you are doing a safari in Selous, stay at Selous Mapumziko Lodge in Mloka, you will enjoy your stay.

Great experience We had a wonderful safari experience in Nyerere park with. We managed to see many animals and their herds - elephants, buffalos, impalas, zebras, giraffes, lions, hippos, crocodiles. Seeing elephants was a very special moment for us. Thanks to our guide Franklin's skills we could get very close to them - we were just very quite and enjoyed wathing those beautiful big animals. We got a lot of information about the animals we saw from Franklin. He also introduced us the life of local people. We really recommend Franklin as a guide - he is very patient, has a good sense of humor and ... is the best driver in Tansania :). Silva and Vaido

Fabulous place in great location Such an amazing place in a quiet location but close to the park for game drives. We saw the big 5 plus loads of other animals. Our guide was very knowledgeable and knew where the animals were likely to be. We did day and evening drives to experience and view different animals. Accommodation was a traditional but with all the facilities and comfort needed. Food was great and plentiful and having a meal out in the national park during a game drive was an incredible experience. I would wholeheartedly recommend

Best choice for value for money! I have visited this lodge on many occasions now. I organise trips for other people as part of their trip to Tanzania, when they come to volunteer. The safaris are consistently great, seeing lions, elephants, giraffes, leopard, hippo etc nobody has ever been disappointed. The accommodation is basic but perfectly adequate and clean and the food has always been great. I hope to always be able to book this lodge when organising a trip for other people.

Amazing place with fantastic staff We stayed in the camp after spending whole day in safari. Camp is a short drive from Nyerere National Park. We stayed in family tent. Tent had everything what you need for a short period of time. It had a shower, toilet, fan, mini fridge and comfortable bed. Grounds are beautiful with all different kind of monkeys running around the camp. You are waking up to a song of millions birds and a laugh of hippos. Amazing experience. Staff is very nice and attentive. George and Calvin took us for a walk to a local village and that was fantastic experience. They teached us Swahili language ( thank you guys) Food was freshly made and delicious. The best tilapia fish I've ever tasted. You can buy cold drinks from the bar and cold beer which taste delicious after a whole day chasing animals. Whole in general great time and experience. Highly recommended. Asante Sana George and Calvin.

Personal and very inviting accommodation 3 km from the Selous National Park entrance. We had a wonderful two nights stay at the Mapumziko Lodge (means relax in Swahili) during our 5 days/ 4 nights Selous & Mikumi safari excursion with Filbert Felix (owner and operator of Raha Adventures and Mapumziko Lodge). We were greeted with super friendly and accommodating staff. We arrived at Selous Mapziko Lodge which is only 3 km from the Selous park entrance. We were a family of four. The spacious a s clean family tent consists of one double bed and two twin beds, a fully functional bathroom with warm shower. It’s perfectly situated along the Rufiji river where you can see the most beautiful Tanzanian sunset. There’s also a camp fire facing the river where we spent our evenings recapping the day and gazing the bright stars. The traditional Tanzanian meals served were delicious and was plenty. My husband didn’t eat meat so they accommodated his needs. The packed lunch were outstanding and even more so when you were able to picnic right in the middle of the national park surrounded my animals and gorgeous landscape. Aside from the Selous Safari, you can also do a boat safari on the Rufiji river where you can see families of hippos and crocodiles. A Bush walk safari is also done near the camp which we enjoyed greatly. We highly recommend Mapumziko Lodge for your Seoul Safari
